It certainly has been an interesting year so far. You may choose to call it something else a little less positive such as challenging . . . stressful . . . or just downright awful. I’m sure, like so many of us, you are inside your four walls, however large or small those may be, thinking about all the things you could do or meant to do to make your home feel more like a space that really nurtures you. Perhaps changing the paint colours that you have never liked or adding some fabulous wallpaper to those new colours might bring you joy.
As many of you know, I believe that having a clutter-free space with minimal distractions can help you feel calm and in control of your life. I also believe that having beautiful things around you on your walls, your floors and in your space can bring you a sense of peace and joy. Maybe that is found in an inspiring piece of artwork that speaks to you, or a fabulous comfortable sofa that is the perfect spot to unwind at the end of the day.
For many of you it could be time to splurge and buy a gorgeous and perfectly functional desk and storage cabinet for your home office. Afterall, if you’re working from home that could be exactly what you need to help you be more comfortable and more effective. The exciting thing about re-designing your office space at home is that YOU get to choose exactly what the space looks like instead of someone at your office doing it for you. What about the perfect wallpaper accent and coordinating paint colors? Add a gorgeous area rug, some more functional furniture and your space is coming together. I can already visualize it!

Geesh, that makes me want to buy some new office furniture. That is already on my list for 2021 and has been since I’ve been spending more time in my home office. The problem is that I will want to change some other furniture pieces as well since my office is open to the rest of my space. That’s referred to as “scope creep” in case you didn’t know. Not always a bad thing. It can be good fun creating a long-term plan for your space(s).

I’m sure, like me, you would like to put 2020 behind you and move forward with a renewed sense of hope and happiness in your life and for the rest of the world. I know decluttering and redecorating might seem like a trivial exercise in the big picture, but I have a feeling it will help you live with just a little more joy that you can share with others.
Don’t forget that I have access to all sorts of resources for furniture and décor that you may not know about, and that I can help you pull your space together in 2021. I am sending you all positive thoughts and trust that you and your loved ones are safe and healthy.
